Hi! I'm Allison (@therealadri on Twitter) and I'm loving this newsletter so far! I wish I could say that my greatest accomplishment in quarantine was learning to play the keyboard, but unfortunately I only learned a very stilted version of "Happy Birthday" before abandoning my lessons. But I am proud to have kept my recommendations and essays newsletter, Friendmendations (adri.substack.com) going throughout this, and I built a full archive of past recommendations for anyone looking to kill some time by going down various internet rabbit holes: https://www.recs.friendmendations.com/

Hello from Florida! I’m really proud of finishing my master’s thesis and degree program during the pandemic. Topic: Walt Disney and Space in the American Imagination. My degree is in American history and I focused on pop culture history, so the goal is to keep writing more of that!

As for paying a couple dollars a month for bonus newsletter content, I’m down. I’ve been trying to get out of the local TV news industry since before the pandemic, and this newsletter has been beyond helpful even in just 2 issues. Keep up the great work, Jordan!

Hi there! I'm Carla (@elorisea), all the way from the Philippines! I'm really proud that I was able to have my work published in several publications for the first time. It's definitely a feat, and I managed to do it during the pandemic! That's something I wouldn't have thought I'd be able to do at all.

I'm loving the newsletter so far! There are plenty of opportunities listed for everyone. I'm not entirely keen on the premium, but the newsletter is something I'd share with fellow journos. :)

Heyo! I'm Morgan (@morganmudway) and I'm most proud of the illustrations I've been pumping out in the past few months. I think it's about time I updated my website! Either way, it's felt pretty good to make so many self-contained pieces, and given me the inspiration and motivation to start my secret long-term project. I hope to have more to share in a year's time. ;)

Good day, I'm Stephen (@theMediaman on Twitter) and I really respect all you've accomplished in spite of the year behind us. The site I work for isn't hiring any new writers right now, but some sibling sites are. Right now there are Staff Writer positions for CableTV.com and SafeWise.com. We're expecting to hire in the new year so keep watching the jobs site. The position is listed as Salt Lake City, but they're open to remote work from other states so I encourage you to apply.

(@mhcovill) Other then raising my infant, I’d say the greatest personal accomplishment during the last few months is my continued work on my podcast (@itsthepicpod). We do biweekly episodes on the latest films and entertainment, as well as deep dives into directors and actors of the present and past. Please check it out and tell your friends.

I’m ok with a paid tier and would be willing to do it, but ideally it would have to really provide content that I couldn’t get anywhere else.

I've made about 800% more off my art this year than I have last year, because I've been taking my career more seriously now, and I'm super proud of that! And I've started exercising regularly! You can keep up with that on Twitter @BirdeeBlake ;).

As for a subscription model, I personally wouldn't sign up for it because of the broad amount of topics it would cover. Only a very small amount of them would apply to me. It might still be a neat idea though.

Hi from Florida! My name is Jackie! I do graphic design, video editing, I draw, and I also do music! Something I'm really proud of that I did was I was uploading a new music cover to my YouTube channel with my siblings. We covered Pink Floyd's "Breathe" off of their Dark Side of the Moon album. Here's a link: https://youtu.be/4uMZmkx2s0A

Basil here! (@kobanya_kana) I'm most proud of the story I wrote for Perhappened Magazine's HEATWAVE Issue, "Adaptability"! It's a giant love letter to my home state and my favorite scaly puppy, alligators! Like Carla, I started having works published during the pandemic and I'm excited to get more of my work out there. I'm also proud of getting back on the translation horse and translating part of the Odyssey into AAVE for Translation Month.

The premium subscription sounds like a good deal, but I know I don't have the cash to contribute, so count me a neutral party, I suppose.

Hey, I'm Jamie (@theroarbots on Twitter).

LOVING the new mascot! The creative thing I'm probably most proud of during quarantine is the thing I just turned in this morning: an oral history of the M.A.S.K. franchise for a new geeky magazine. I loved this toy line as a kid, and I got to chat with Kenner toy designers, animation voice actors, and comic writers. Tons of fun.

Potentially interested in a premium option, depending on cost obvs. Keep up the great work, Jordan!

Hi, I'm Raquel at @raquelserrano_ on Twitter. One thing I've accomplished this Rona season is mapping out my family tree! My family hails from one island — it's been fun learning about the many people who came together and, as a result, made me.

The premium option doesn't speak to me much, personally, but that all sounds like good content. Great newsletter!

During the quarantine, I've been hustling for as many gigs as possible despite the bad economy, but I'm most proud of my newsletter, Progressives Everywhere! I continue to interview candidates and activists and raise money for progressive campaigns. In June, I raised $1.5 million for bail funds, thanks largely to people passing around the link. Even when I don't raise anything, it's empowering to focus on pitching in to save us from this misery. The newsletter is at ProgressivesEverywhere.substack.com.

Hello from Atlanta! My name is James (jimsbomb), and this year has been a mangled garbage year for me professionally as it has been for so many other people. The thing I've accomplished this year that I'm most proud of is submitting a (terrible) script to the Bloodlist and, working on it from concept to completion, though I wager it needs a few more rewrites to be "good." It's been a huge learning experience for me and it's a very big symbolic victory for my mental health. My anxiety has had some walls up for sharing work for well over a decade - even in high school, so running something from base concept to submission is a massive boon to me. I'm working on more to submit to competitions and festivals in the coming months, and looking for work since I've been unemployed since March.

As far as a paid tier, I'd be down. This is a huge boon to so many people that you're willing to put the work and time into this, I think it's amazing. Not everybody knows how to trawl for the nerdier/geekier jobs that are around what would want to shoot their shot and apply to them. I feel really lucky to have stumbled into this from Twitter.
